About the project

In collaboration with Marcelo Bicudo we designed an interactive installation for the Uniflex Pinheiros Store in Sao Paulo, during the Sao Paulo Design Weekend 2016 event.
10 connected curtains and 24 lights were wirelessly controlled by the new Tahoma system by Somfy, installed in the Uniflex products with software and hardware by NeoControl. NoPorn, a brazilian band provided the samples of their new track "Tanto" wich were played and tweaked in real time by the moving curtains.
A performance of about 5 minutes took place by a software orcherstrating the curtains, lighs and music in real time. After the performance was complete, the system would switch to manual mode, and visitors were given a tablet with buttons that allowed people to control the same curtains, lights and even re-compose the music. The system had an assitance feature that would help synchronize the music and the movement in real-time.
During the development process a 3D simulation was created to assist in the regency of the event.
